America’s Got Talent revealed a champion on Wednesday night (Sept. 18) during a power-packed two-hour finale that crowned inspirational singer Kodi Lee as the season 14 winner. The 22 year-old Golden Buzzer star, who is blind and on the autism spectrum, warmed hearts with his emotional piano covers of Donny Hathaway’s “A Song For You” and his finale cover of “You Are The Reason” with Leona Lewis. Lewis wasn’t the only superstar in the mix, though.
For the one hour and 58 minutes before Lee jumped for joy in victory, AGT served up a series of surprise guest stars and visits from old friends, as well as the debut of judge Julianne Hough’s single “Transform,” an animated skit with Cher and Simon Cowell — as well as her colorful run through ABBA‘s “Waterloo,” Ozuna and Benicio Bryan teaming up for “Baila Baila Baila” and “Taki Taki,” Billy Ray Cyrus performing “Some Gave All” with the Voices of Service, teen opera singer Emane Beasha collaborating with classical piano legend Lang Lang and Kygo and Macklemore teaming up with the show’s two choir finalists.
Oh, and Simon’s old American Idol pal Paula Abdul shocked everyone with a neon-splashed cameo.
