13-year-old Angelina Jordan blew everyone’s minds with her heartstring-tugging rendition of Elton John‘s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” during Monday’s AGT: The Champions final.
“You make your Golden Buzzer mama so proud,” judge Heidi Klum, who advanced her straight from the auditions into the finals, told the songstress. “I can feel it all the way down into my bones that you are a superstar in the making. I mean, seeing it right in front of our eyes — the melancholy that you put into that Elton John song was incredible. You are so good and I’m so excited for you. Good luck!”
In honor of Jordan’s incredible performance, we’ve compiled five things to know about the teenage superstar. See them below.
1. She won Norway’s Got Talent in 2014
And she achieved the feat in her home country when she was just eight years old. She caught the judges’ (and Norway’s) hearts by singing, in her characteristically mature voice, classic jazz songs including “Gloomy Sunday” and “Fly Me to the Moon.”
2. She has a lot of covers on YouTube
Since her Norway’s Got Talent win, Jordan has been uploading renditions of popular songs on her YouTube channel, usually singing alongside a guitarist. Among her performances are Lana Del Rey‘s “Young and Beautiful,” John Legend‘s “All of Me,” Amy Winehouse‘s “Valerie” and Whitney Houston‘s “I Have Nothing.”
3. She has worked with Avicii
Back in 2015, the late Avicii premiered his worldwide Volvo commercial, featuring his fast-paced lifestyle. The ad included Jordan’s impressive vocals crooning Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good.”
4. She appeared in Little Big Shots
When Jordan was 10 years old, she took part in the UK’s talent series, Little Big Shots. She performed Dinah Washington’s “What a Difference a Day Makes.”
5. She’s a children’s book author
Yup, she can do it all. In 2015, Jordan published Mellom to hjerter, meaning “Between Two Hearts,” which was illustrated by her grandmother. Said to be based on a true story, the book follows Angelina when she meets a girl in Asia, and gives the girl her shoes. Jordan explained that the interaction is why she always performs barefoot.
