John Legend and Chrissy Teigen set the perfect tone for the holiday season during their Christmas variety show, A Legendary Christmas with John and Chrissy, which aired on NBC on Wednesday night (Nov. 28).
A Legendary Christmas followed the couple as they got ready for the ultimate holiday party, and included a few adorable appearances from their children, Luna and Miles. Of course, no Legend special would be complete without a few performances from the EGOT winner, who sang songs off of his new Christmas album of the same name. Teigen and Legend were also joined by their celebrity friends for the hour of Christmas cheer.
From a mac and cheese showdown to Teigen’s worst nightmare, here are the best moments from the holiday special that are sure to get even the Grinchiest among you into the Christmas spirit.
The Nostalgic Introduction
Legend wasted no time setting the tone for the Christmas special with his beautiful rendition of “Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire.” Filmed in black and white, Legend’s crooning evoked the nostalgia of a 50’s Christmas holiday celebration.
Kris Jenner Drops By… With a Business Proposal
Jenner, the first guest to arrive at the party, informed Teigen that she’s going to become her “momager” when they start their own headband line together. The bit is a spoof on Legend’s “Headband of The Day” song that Teigen once shared on her Instagram.
Christmas Caroling Surprises
Luna FaceTimes the Queer Eye Cast
Two-year-old Luna might have completely stolen the show during her adorable FaceTime with the Fab Five. The Queer Eye guys originally called to check on busy host Teigen, but decided to talk to the tot instead… until she accidentally hung up on them!
Chrissy Lives Her Worst Nightmare
During a dream sequence, Teigen had a nightmare where she wound up auditioning for The Voice, deciding to make the judges laugh instead of singing. After poking fun at Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, Teigen turned her attention to guest judge Legend. “John, I make more money than you now!” she teased.
John and Chrissy’s Mac Attack
The couple tried to settle their ongoing debate about who makes better mac and cheese during their star-studded holiday party. “You have a ton of awards, we get it, but I feel like that doesn’t transfer into being able to make mac and cheese,” Teigen said of her husband. After taking their dishes to a focus group, Teigen rejoiced a being declared the winner.
John Serenades Chrissy with “Bring Me Love”
Legend and Teigen reminded everyone why they’re a perfect couple with their loving performance of his new song “Bring Me Love.” As Legend sang the song’s lyrics about hoping he’d find love in time for Christmas, it was clear he found it with Teigen a long time ago.
