Post Malone is feeling grateful — and likely a little relieved — after firefighters put out a blaze at the vineyard where his Maison No. 9 wine is produced.
Wildfires broke out in mid-August in the Var region, near the South of France, and quickly spread to the surrounding area. While the fires reportedly started in forests, officials say strong winds eventually fanned the flames to wine-growing areas as well. The BBC reports at least 73 wineries that were affected by the blaze.
Fortunately, firefighters were able to get to Malone’s winery in time. A rep for Maison No. 9 says though “the vineyard was impacted heavily… thankfully, the hardworking firefighters were able to get the blaze under control.”

Malone and his team paid a visit to the winery this week to access the situation, later hosting a dinner for a few of the firefighters to thank them for their efforts in saving his crop. Per the rep, “[The team] was saddened to see the damage to an area they’ve grown to love so much but were very thankful to see that their grapes were saved. Post and his team were so moved by the firefighters hard and brave work.”
Launched last May, Malone’s popular rosé wine is produced in Provence, France. The team behind Maison No. 9 also includes James Morrissey and Dre London, and the team spent much of 2019 – in-between Post’s sold-out tour dates – traveling frequently to the winery. The musician has since become very familiar with the entire wine-making process and as a result, says it was important for him to not only see the current state of the vineyards, but to also meet and honor the people who helped put out the fires.
