Another day, another limited edition Grateful Dead release.
It’s been nearly 44 years since the band unveiled their ninth studio album Terrapin Station, and they’re honoring the project with a new officially licensed bobblehead, available now on Amazon. Only 1,977 Grateful Dead Terrapin Statoin bobbleheads were made, to represent the year the album was released. Each item is individually numbered, making this a true collector’s piece for Grateful Dead fans and merch collectors alike.
The release finds two turtles fittingly jamming out at Terrapin train station. Everything is hand-sculpted and hand-painted, and the figurine is presented in a collector’s box. Originally released on Etsy, the bobbleheads have sold out on the site, but you can still buy the Grateful Dead Terrapin Station Bobblehead Set on Amazon here.
1977’s Terrapin Station peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard 200 albums chart on September 30, 1977 and stayed on the chart for 16 weeks. It’s still considered one of the Grateful Dead’s most iconic albums, and this officially-licensed merch release is a great way to commemorate the record.
The restock of the Grateful Dead turtle bobbleheads comes amid some other stylish Grateful Dead collaborations in recent months, including a set of boho-style surf blankets, a phone case collection with Casely and a Grateful Dead Igloo cooler set, which features Dead-inspired prints and motifs on a classic picnic cooler.
