Years & Years have dropped the official music video for “All For You,” the third single off the British electropop trio’s sophomore album Palo Santo, today (Sept. 17).
Expanding the artful sci-fi concept of Palo Santo — the dystopian, android-run civilization where the human species is prized for their entertainment prowess — “All for You” is a lovers’ tit-for-tat expressed in dance.
In the video, Olly Alexander is transported into unfamiliar terrain, following his ascent into automaton stardom in the “Sanctify” and “If You’re Over Me” videos. Alexander steps foot into a warehouse, performing and gyrating under an array of spotlights before an unfamiliar face sheathed in all-white — perhaps an android — awakens. Alexander glitches, his angelic attire morphing into an all-black, chained-up leather garb, before engaging in a divine, back-and-forth interpretive routine with his newfound partner.
Years & Years kicks off its North American tour in Toronto on Oct. 5.
