Los Angeles-based pop singer and songwriter Wrabel is expanding into holiday territory in his new track “First Winter.” Accompanied by a heartwarming video, “First Winter” beautifully captures the feeling of spending Christmas with someone you love for the first time.
In the video, Wrabel sets up a cute Christmas-themed trail that his partner has to follow in order to find him. The path is littered with stockings, red and green Hershey Kisses, and adorable notes that his love interest spends most of his time deciphering.
“Guess my wish came true/ Just like home, not alone/ Winter’s not so blue, my first winter with you,” Wrabel sings in the back of a decorated pickup truck while he waits for his lover to find him.
Inspiration for the song comes from a very real and sweet moment in Wrabel’s personal life. This year is the first time in 11 years of living in LA that he’s going to spend the holidays with someone that he’s in love with.
“I wanted to focus on the beauty of experiencing a new season for the first time together with someone you love,” Wrabel said. “I hope this song will bring hope to the LGBTQ+ community, but will also bring joy to anyone spending a little extra time under the mistletoe this year.”
