Pose, the latest brainchild of television screenwriting juggernaut Ryan Murphy, has already made waves since its grand entrance onto primetime in June.
With the series’ sixth episode, the show continues to make history, with Janet Mock becoming the first trans woman of color to produce, write and direct a primetime television show.

Fortunately, the answer is quite simple and much less devastating for fans who may have thought the show had been unfairly snubbed. The eligibility period for Emmy nominations opened June 1, 2017 and closed May 31, 2018. The series’ pilot premiered on June 3, 2018, just a few days after the cutoff. Therefore, Pose plainly did not make the time frame for this year’s awards, but will be eligible to receive its first Emmy nominations, come this time in 2019.
Set in the late ‘80s, the FX series depicts the often misrepresented ball culture of New York and those who lived it, casting the largest number of transgender actors of all time in series regular roles for a scripted series. This cohort includes MJ Rodriguez (Blanca), Dominique Jackson (Elektra), Indya Moore (Angel), Hailie Sahar (Lulu), and Angelica Ross (Candy).
