Troye Sivan teased in a recent interview that there’s a feature on his upcoming album that “girls and gays are going to, like, die for.” Many speculated that the pop virtuoso was referring to a collaboration with Carly Rae Jepsen. It turns out that they were kind of right… but mostly wrong.
In an interview with PopBuzz, Sivan confirmed that he and Jepsen had worked together on music for his sophomore album, but said that none of the songs they wrote made the final cut of his record. “For this album, we wrote and it just never — sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t,” he said. “We wrote a really cute song … you end up writing 50 songs for an album when you wanna pick 10, so sometimes they just don’t make it.”
While fans were sad to hear the song didn’t make it onto Troye’s new album, they still rejoiced online over the potential of a collaboration.
