RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3 winner Trixie Mattel stopped to chat with Billboard Pride’s Patrick Crowley during RuPaul’s DragCon Los Angeles.
Mattel, who kicked off DragCon weekend with an acoustic performance of some original tracks from her albums Two Birds and One Stone, as well as a cover of the All Stars 3 version of RuPaul’s “Kitty Girl,” says, “You can’t play at DragCon and not do a Drag Race song.
“Honestly, I usually just wait for the white people to start yelling ‘Wonderwall,’” she joked of performing live.
The queen also talks about her current North American tour, Trixie Mattel – Now With Moving Parts, telling Billboard Pride: “So that’s 40 cities, and then we’re adding some in the fall. And then I’m going to Canada to do it for like 10 cities, and then I’m going to Australia twice this summer,” before adding, “so I’ll be dead soon.”
“The tour is really great,” she continues. “I get to tell jokes all day and just play my guitar. It’s so fun…There’s nothing like muddling through selections from Johnny Cash in front of teenagers who don’t know who he is.”
