
Since 1969, the Los Angeles LGBT Center has been at the center of the fight for queer rights in America, along with providing vital services to the LGBTQ community of Los Angeles such as housing, health consultation and more. Now, the organization is ready to celebrate its 50 years of service.
On Tuesday (Sept. 10), the Los Angeles LGBT Center announced the lineup for its Hearts of Gold concert and “multimedia extravaganza,” taking place Sept. 21. For the evening’s music, Sia, Rufus Wainwright, Ty Herndon, Jenifer Lewis, Valentina and Thelma Houston will take to the stage to perform for the crowd.
Joining the performers are even more celebrity participants, including Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Kathy Griffin, Margaret Cho, Nico Santos, Zeke Smith, Tig Notaro, Bruce Vilanch, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk and the cast of Freeform’s Good Trouble.
According to a statement from the Los Angeles LGBT Center, the event promises to be a “once-in-a-lifetime evening” that will “celebrate the Center’s momentous 50th anniversary and five decades of the fight for LGBT equality.”
