Who run the world? According to Beyoncé, Shangela does.
At the 30th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, the drag superstar took to the stage to perform a raucous medley of Beyoncé’s greatest hits, including hits like “Partition,” “Run the World” and “Single Ladies,” along with Destiny’s Child tracks like “Bootylicious” and “Independent Women.” The star was aided by a slew of backup dancers, who helped Shangela pull off some truly sickening choreography.
Following her performance, Shangela was met with a standing ovation, including from Beyoncé herself who beamed at the star and applauded her performance ecstatically. Shangela, in turn, jumped around the stage in excitement.
The drag star was tributing the iconic performer in honor of her GLAAD Media Award; Beyoncé and Jay-Z were honored with a GLAAD Vanguard Award for their continued support as fierce allies for the LGBTQ community.
