BenDeLaCreme might not be taking home the RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3 crown – despite having been the shoo-in for the title – but she is a champion when it comes to playing “1 Has 2 Go.” Billboard sat down with the queen, who suddenly and unexpectedly eliminated herself from the show last week, to find out her preferences when it comes to classic lip-sync songs, television shows and much more.
Asked to choose between the movies To Wong Foo, Pink Flamingos and Paris Is Burning, BenDeLaCreme has a tough choice picking one, eventually deciding to eliminate the first option. “These films are all incredible, but I would have to go with To Wong Foo only because it’s the only one of the films [that] was actually cast completely by straight men,” she says. “And you know what? They have enough!”
The queen has a tougher time selecting from Ellen DeGeneres, Kate McKinnon and Rachel Maddow, ultimately deciding to keep them all. “I cannot go with any of these women,” she explains. “All of these industries are dominated enough by people with wangs!”
Don’t expect to see BenDeLaCreme lip syncing to “It’s Raining Men” any time soon, since she nixes it over “I’m Coming Out” and “I Will Survive” because she has seen too many bachelorettes falling down to the 1982 Weather Girls classic.
For fans curious who BenDeLaCreme would ax out of Britney Spears, Beyoncé and P!nk, she decides to part ways with the “Crazy In Love” singer. “Britney’s been through enough, I’m not gonna put her through any more so we’ll keep her,” she shares. “You know what? Beyoncé’s got enough success and Shangela’s holding down the fort on that one so let’s let Beyoncé go. Shangela will catch her when she falls.”
