There’s no denying that when it comes to hosting, there are few people more qualified than RuPaul Charles. The drag icon and host of RuPaul’s Drag Race has won two Emmys for hosting the reality show, along with hosting his own talk show in the ‘90s, the body-painting reality show Skin Wars and the game show Gay for Play.
But now, the queen is coming for TED Talks’ gig at this year’s DragCon NYC. RuPaul will be hosting the first-ever panel in a series of conversations called “RuTalks” on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the annual convention.
Ru’s special guest for his talk will be Charles M. Blow, a columnist for The New York Times who writes about politics and social justice. The outspoken author has made a name for himself in calling out President Donald Trump’s attacks against the media, immigrants, women and minorities both in his columns and on his social media.
RuPaul has also been in the habit of commenting on Trump’s various cruelties, most often taking to Twitter to share his often poetically-written thoughts about the state of America, while also occasionally delving into politics on his podcast RuPaul: What’s the Tee? w/ Michelle Visage.
The first “RuTalk” will take place on Saturday, September 29th at 1 p.m. during DragCon NYC.
