On season 10 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, there have been a number of memorable moments, but all of them pale in comparison to the endlessly meme-able moment when Vanessa Vanjie Mateo exited the competition wailing “Miss Vanjie.” The internet has turned the drag star’s moment into one of the most prolific memes in the show’s herstory.
The biggest fan of this meme, it seems, is RuPaul himself. Tweeting out multiple different Vanjie-related posts and giggling at the mere mention of the eliminated queen’s name on the show, the host is clearly very smitten with the now-iconic moment from the show.
But on Monday night, Ru took his love for Miss Vanjie to new heights. Attending the Time 100 Gala, RuPaul took to the red carpet with his husband Georges LeBar wearing a beautiful suit and a gold necklace that simply said “Vanjie.”
Along with supporting one of his show’s queens, the icon was also seen rubbing shoulders with a number of other celebrities attending the event, including Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon and comedian Leslie Jones.
Miss Vanjie herself has noticed Ru’s love for her meme. She told Billboard earlier this month that when she was in the middle of being eliminated, she had an epiphany. “When I got there, I turned around and saw RuPaul and saw Christina [Aguilera] and saw everyone was looking just at the judges, I decided to give them my name, and I said ‘Fuck it. Might as well have these bitches remember me.’”
