It’s important to admit when you’ve done something wrong, and to try and make up for your mistake. That’s exactly what Reyna are trying to do with their latest single.
On Friday, the indie pop duo released their latest single “Clueless,” a groovy, infectious jam about trying to get back together with an ex lover off of their forthcoming debut EP. Vic and Gab Banuelos tell their former flame that they’re sorry time and time again, while asking them to come over for some quality time (including a viewing of the 1995 hit film Clueless). But at the end of the day, they’re not that sorry, because as they sing, “I know you know it will happen again.”
The pair also unveiled a music video for the track, which sees the two giving it their all in a karaoke-style rendition of the song. With a classic tinsel backdrop, and some hilarious props, the duo dance through the awkwardness to show their lover what they’re missing out on.
As Gab explained in a statement, the song is also a note to herself about letting go of inner stress. “I’ve spent most of this year feeling pretty clueless, struggling with anxiety, self esteem, and feeling like I’m not enough for the people in my life,” she said. “‘Clueless’ is me saying to myself I deserve to be loved, to be happy and that I am enough, but most importantly I’ve learned to accept and love myself the way I am.”
