In just a year and a half, Queer Eye, Netflix’s reality makeover show, has become an international sensation. With three Emmy Awards, a special international episode taking place in Australia and a massive following of fans, the show has become one of the streaming platform’s biggest hits.
Now, the Fab Five are getting fans ready for their newest batch of episodes with the release of the official trailer for season 4 on Monday (July 8). In the trailer, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown and Jonathan Van Ness continue their trek throughout the Kansas City, Mo., area, helping their “heroes” come out of their shells and become more empowered.
One of this season’s participants has a personal connection to the Fab Five. In the opening shots of the trailer, we see Van Ness making an all-school announcement to his former high school and reuniting with his former orchestra teacher, Kathi. “Try not to cry, try not to lose it,” he says in a confessional, before a clip shows him sitting down with her. “You have literally saved people’s lives. Mine included.”
The new season isn’t the only Queer Eye that fans can look forward to in 2019: Netflix has confirmed a special mini-season coming later this year that follows the Fab Five as they venture to help some new heroes in Japan. The season will be aptly titled Queer Eye: We’re In Japan!
Season 4 of Queer Eye hits Netflix on July 19. Check out the full trailer below:
