When you are a songwriter as talented as MNEK, you get the opportunity to work with a bevy of accomplished artists. The British singer, who has written tracks for icons like Madonna, Beyoncé and Dua Lipa, has been writing more music for himself recently, and he’s now getting some help from pop singer Hailee Steinfeld.
MNEK took to Twitter on Friday to announce his upcoming single “Colour,” featuring Steinfeld on the track. In a 30-second video he posted, the singer-songwriter announced the song with Steinfeld at their video shoot for the track’s video. “My new single is called ‘Colour,’ it’s out June 1st and it features this wonderful woman, Ms. Hailee Steinfeld.”

In a later tweet, the singer released the song’s artwork, along with a 15-second tease of the track. While we don’t hear MNEK or Steinfeld singing, we get a taste of the song’s seemingly minimalist, synth-laiden production.
“Colour” comes after the singer’s first single from his upcoming debut album, “Tongue.” In an interview with Billboard, MNEK said that he was extremely proud of the work he put into the album. “This album is something I’ve worked on over the course of my entire career and something I’ve been discovering myself in it,” he said.
