Grammy-winning singer and LGBTQ icon Melissa Etheridge will perform at this year’s WorldPride Closing Ceremony in New York City. Etheridge will be one of the many entertainers at the event, which will take place Sunday, June 30, in Times Square.
The Closing Ceremony will have performers taking the stage to show their support for the LGBTQ community and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. The event will be filled with plenty of performances by LGBTQ artists, as well as allies.
“That night, Times Square will serve as a home to a multitude of LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies on a truly momentous evening of love, pride, and community — capping what I’m sure will be an extraordinary month of celebrations,” Etheridge said.
The event will be free for all those who attend. More updates and details will be announced as the date approaches. For more information, be sure to visit WorldPride’s website.
