Lauren Jauregui is celebrating her birthday by asking fans to donate to The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading equality, tolerance and hope for the LGBTQ community worldwide.
The historic Stonewall Riots began on June 28, 1969, in New York’s Greenwich Village and sparked the gay rights movement in the United States. This year, Jauregui, who identifies as bisexual, is helping celebrities including Laverne Cox launch the inaugural Stonewall Day, a national day of awareness to be commemorated each year on June 28. Jauregui tweeted her birthday wish, and Cox was quick to show support for the cause. One lucky donor will win a trip to Los Angeles for a painting class with the Fifth Harmony singer.
