Kennedy Davenport is the latest RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3 diva to drop a track since Thursday’s (March 15) bonkers finale. The track, titled “Moving Up”, is an empowering modern disco track and features Dresia Dee.
“My inspiration came from all the obstacles that I have had to face in my life to date,” Davenport told Billboard. “Those obstacles, combined with all of my life experiences — good and bad — gave me the strength and courage to press on through it all. It taught me to stay focused and to never doubt my abilities and my passion. For it’s your passion that sets you free.”
The drag star added that she plans to release more music: “I’m excited to be doing a cover of one my favorite songs, ‘The Way We Were.’ It’s a ballad that truly speaks to me and shows an even more passionate side of me.”
With Davenport’s release, three of the four All Stars 3 finalists have released new music since the season finale. Crowned winner Trixie Mattel released a 7-track folk album, One Stone, and fan favorite Shangela released a high energy club anthem called “Pay Me.”
