HBO announced Monday (June 4) it will be settling in Provincetown, Massachusetts, this summer with The Studio, a seven-week immersive pop-up experience that will celebrate the LGBTQ+ community through art, entertainment and creativity.
With the help of partnerships with queer media brands Out, The Tenth, Hello Mr. and INTO, the cable network will be providing programming that will include workshops, screenings, panel discussions, yoga classes, art installations, drag queen trivia and more. Among the music-based events are a screening of the documentary Believer, which stars Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds‘ exploring how the Mormon Church treats its LGBTQ members.
“We are thrilled to be creating space with partners we’ve admired and whose past partnerships have contributed greatly to our brand,” said HBO vp multicultural marketing Jackie Gagne in an interview with Out. “Storytelling is at the heart of HBO, and we are proud of our long legacy of LGBTQ narratives and inclusion. We couldn’t be more excited to explore the modern context of the art form with some of the most prominent and progressive voices in the community today.”
