RuPaul’s Drag Race is an undoubtedly global phenomenon. While filming and production of the show takes place in the U.S., fans from all over the world watch the show and want to see their own iterations. Thai fans got their wish earlier this year with the inaugural season of Drag Race Thailand.
Now, the stateside fans who want to see the Thai interpretation of the show are going to get their chance: Drag Race Thailand will be available for U.S. viewers to watch with subtitles on WOW Presents Plus starting May 4.
“We were fortunate enough to be on set for some of the taping of Drag Race Thailand and we were left breathless!” said Fenton Bailey, one of the executive producers of RuPaul’s Drag Race. “Be prepared to gag!”
Drag Race Thailand remains mainly styled after the American version of Drag Race, but with one key difference; instead of having one supermodel glamazon host the show, the Thai version has drag superstars Art-Araya In-dra and Pangina Heals co-hosting the competition.
For the fans who still need more Drag Race in their life before next month, the Chilean version of the show, called The Switch Drag Race, is currently available on the platform. The show follows host Karla Constant on her search to find the best “transformista.”
