Pop singer Dorian Electra is undeniably extravagant. Known for their hard-hitting pop jams and well-defined aesthetic (including a drawn-on pencil-thin mustache), Electra is a walking example of the importance of camp.
The star leaned into their vibrant personality in their new video for “Flamboyant,” out Friday (April 26). The track, played as though Liberace were transported to the 21st century and got really into synthesizers and 808s, flies in the face of those wishing to criticize the rising star for their personality. “No taste for subtlety/ And no time for restraint/ No, oh, I go all the way.”
The video for the track is similarly over-the-top, portraying Electra as an endlessly wealthy bachelor galavanting through a lavish mansion, all while turning their keyboard and speakers up to 11. With dramatic costumes, luxurious sets and a killer song, the video certainly lives up to its title.
