Songwriter Jesse Saint John has collaborated with the likes of Britney Spears, Camila Cabella, Sia and Charli XCX — and now he’s ready to step into the spotlight with his debut single, “Move.”
“‘Move’ is the perfect kick-off for my sound as an artist. I’m inspired by danger and dancing through your pain,” Saint John tells Billboard.
The cowbell-heavy party jam wouldn’t be out of place on a turn-of-the-millennium teen flick soundtrack, which makes sense given Saint James’ influences: “When i was approaching writing for myself, I found myself inspired by a lot of ’90s cinema, quirky, dangerous, wild films — like Go and Doom Generation,” he says. “It felt energetically driven and somewhat icy and desolate, but still so fun.”
