RuPaul’s Drag Race season 6 winner Bianca Del Rio has had a prolific career after winning the show, going on to act in her own movies, create lines of beauty products, write a book and perform countless sets of stand-up comedy around the globe.
Now, Del Rio wants to bring her fiery, “hateful” brand of comedy to politics — specifically to the White House Correspondents Dinner. In a video for Entertainment Weekly, the drag star put herself behind a podium and pled her case to be the host of next year’s dinner. “Number one, because I’m a hateful bitch,” she said.
Del Rio said she would not only be able to make fun of the president, but that she would actually be able to relate to him. “Let’s face it, we’re both second-rate reality stars who have claimed bankruptcy more than once,” she said, adding with a laugh, “And how many times have I had to pay a hooker to say she really did sleep with me?”
The queen also added that she wants to get the opportunity to meet White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. “It’s important for me to get close to Sarah Huckabee Sanders and actually fix her makeup,” she said. “What is up with that eye? She’s always looking like she’s taking a picture.”
But after several points regarding politics and the dinner itself, Del Rio revealed the biggest reason she wants to host the dinner: “Because there’s nothing that I enjoy more than yelling at a room full of white people. It’s my favorite pastime.”
