Ball culture’s Renaissance is in full swing. Between FX’s revolutionary Pose and the endless reverberations of its lingo into the mainstream, the impact of queer ball culture is fully felt. Now, Red Bull Music is bringing together a who’s-who of ball culture down South when they host the ATL Is Burning Ball next month (Nov. 9).
Hosted by ball MC extraordinaire Precious Ebony, the dance party and ball promises to be a celebration of Atlanta’s bustling ballroom culture.
Rappers Leikeli47 and Cakes da Killa and vogue-house fixture MIkeQ are among the headlining musical talents on deck to perform at ATL is Burning. Members from over 10 legendary ball houses — including House of Mizrahi, House of Escada, and House of Ebony — as well as seminal ballroom performers Leiomy Maldonado, DashaunWesley, and Koppi Mizrahi, will serve some realness at ATL is Burning’s ball portion.
Pre-sale tickets are on sale now for $10; day-of admission will cost $15.
