Broadway star Andrew Keenan-Bolger is not a stranger to getting nearly naked to do his job. The actor, famous for his roles in musicals like Tuck Everlasting and Newsies, booked a sex scene in HBO’s now-canceled gay dramedy Looking by sending in a photo of himself stripped down to his underwear.
The photo he sent in was from a performance with the Skivvies, a music duo made up of actors Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley who perform covers of popular songs only in their underwear. Keenan-Bolger joined the group on stage last week for a performance all about boys.
Appearing onstage first in a romper, and then stripping to his briefs, the actor performed a medley of songs all about boys, including Charli XCX’s “Boys,” Britney Spears’ “Boys,” Don Henley’s “The Boys of Summer” and Miami Sound Machine’s “Bad Boys.”
Keenan-Bolger was one of many Broadway stars at the show, including Kate Rockwell (Mean Girls), Matt Doyle (Spring Awakening), Dan Amboyer (Younger), Tamika Lawrence (Come From Away), Wayne Wilcox (Chaplin), Isabel Santiago (In the Heights), and Christian Dante White (Hello, Dolly!).
