It’s natural for mothers to worry about their children, but sometimes, that worrying can become a burden. On her new track, singer-songwriter Amy Kuney (who performs under her stage name Ames) works to lift that burden.
On Friday (March 29), Ames released “Mama It’s Me,” a gentle, tender acoustic ballad dedicated to her mother. Through the lyrics, Ames tries to set her mother’s mind at ease as she frets about her daughter’s safety. “Mama it’s me/ You’ve worried enough/ And the tiniest heart you ever did start/ Has finally found love,” she croons.
Speaking to Billboard last year, Ames teased that “Mama It’s Me,” along with her previous Donnie Darko-themed track “Pictures in My Mind,” would constitute two singles from a yet-announced six-song EP.
