The 2018 edition of the annual charity burlesque show Broadway Bares just got a little more star-studded.
Three-time Grammy Award winner Kirstin Maldonado of Pentatonix, Emmy Award nominee (and noted Magic Mike singer) Matt Bomer, and Grammy winner and two-time Tony Award nominee Andrew Rannells have all joined the one-night-only sexy spectacular, which will be staged twice on Sunday at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York. Tickets are available at BroadwayCares.org.
This year’s show, dubbed Broadway Bares: Game Night, will feature more than 200 dancers from Broadway and beyond, stripping down to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BCEFA). Game Night promises to “put a seductive spin on games you know and love,” according to a press release. The 27 previous editions of the show, staged from 1992 through 2017, have raised more than $17.4 million for BCEFA.
Maldonado was previously seen on Broadway in Kinky Boots, while Bomer and Rannells are currently onstage in the play The Boys in the Band.
A bevy of other special guests and noted performers will take the stage on Sunday. Among them: Charlie Carver, Robin de Jesús, Michael Benjamin Washington and Tuc Watkins (of The Boys in the Band), Tony nominee Ariana DeBose (Summer: The Donna Summer Musical), Jay Armstrong Johnson (The Phantom of the Opera), two-time Tony and Emmy winner Judith Light, Alison Luff (Escape to Margaritaville), Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita, Tony nominee Ashley Park (Mean Girls), L. Steven Taylor (The Lion King), Wesley Taylor (SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical) and Rema Webb (Escape to Margaritaville).
