Lin-Manuel Miranda finally took his almost three-year-old son Sebastian to see the first act of his Broadway hit Hamilton, and tweeted his reaction to each song afterwards.
Sebastian isn’t exactly prime Broadway age or height yet, and Miranda clarified the necessary adjustments that needed to be made for his attendance: “He sat on two booster seats, btw. He is very little.”
Nevertheless, the young child was especially excited to see his pal Elizabeth Judd onstage as a Schuyler sister, who Miranda added, “he has played in the park [with] several times.”
Miranda previously told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that his son was not a fan of Hamilton at all — except for “Dear Theodosia,” because he thought his mother Vanessa wrote it. Sebastian was yet again delighted by “Dear Theodosia,” as Miranda tweeted that he curled up next to his mother while it was onstage, since she did write it herself.
Sebastian’s final verdict? “In summary, he liked it.” His favorite part? “‘The scary parts.’ (Yorktown) But also ‘the kissing and fighting and singing.'”
Read through Sebastian’s entire critique of Act 1 of Hamilton below, and stay-tuned for Act 2 “when he’s a little older.”
