There’s exactly 47 days until Christmas, and there were at least 40 new songs released Friday (Nov. 8) that are perfect for the holiday season.
From the Jonas Brothers‘ new tune “Like It’s Christmas” to the Last Christmas soundtrack, here’s a Billboard guide you can sing along to (although it could never compete with Mariah Carey’s Amazon gift guide).
Jonas Brothers, “Like It’s Christmas”
The Jonas Brothers delivered their freshly minted holiday song “Like It’s Christmas,” and it’s the perfect jubilant bop to tell your significant other that being with them is like celebrating Christmas every day.
John Legend, A Legendary Christmas: Deluxe Edition
John Legend unwrapped the deluxe edition of his 2018-released A Legendary Christmas record on Friday, which presents four new songs: “This Christmas,” “My Favorite Things,” “Christmas in New Orleans” and a sensibly reworked “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” duet with Kelly Clarkson. In giving the controversial Christmas tune a silver lining, Legend rings in the festivities the responsible way.
Alessia Cara, “Make It to Christmas”
Alessia Cara hopes to not be singing the blues this holiday season because she wants her relationship to “Make It to Christmas.” She’s holding onto her significant other by a thread, bemoaning, “Waiting for Santa in my bed is no fun if you’re not there/ And I don’t want to be angry at mistletoes.”
Lukas Graham, “HERE (For Christmas)”
Lukas Graham tell the tale of missing loved ones this Christmas with “HERE (For Christmas).” Frontman Lukas Forchammer croons about his childhood friend William, who died, in the autobiographical track with a sentimental lyric video that flips through their throwback pictures. “‘HERE (For Christmas)’ is about William, my childhood friend, who is no longer with us,” Forchammer said in a press release. “He was renovating this beautiful old boat, but he never got to put it in the water. That boat is a metaphor for all the things I wish I could do with Willy, my dad and all the others that are here no more.”
The Flaming Lips, “Peace on Earth / Little Drummer Boy”
The Flaming Lips pay homage to David Bowie / Bing Crosby‘s 1977 holiday mashup of “Peace on Earth / Little Drummer Boy” by releasing their own version. The retro music video, which was originally released last year, gives the combined classics quite a zany delivery.
Maddie & Tae, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”
Cozy up to Maddie & Tae‘s rendition of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” this season, featuring their warm sugar vocals frosted over each other in a sweet harmony.

George Michael and Wham!, Last Christmas: The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
The holiday rom-com Last Christmas starring Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding arrived Friday (Nov. 8) with an extra present: the soundtrack inspired by the music of George Michael and Wham!. The 14-track LP features a new posthumous release by Michael titled “This Is How (We Want You to Get High),” classic Wham! songs and the best tracks from Michael’s solo years.
Emma Thompson spoke with Michael back at his London home, which birthed the idea of making a movie based off the 1984 Wham! song “Last Christmas.” “The wisdom and emotional scope of George’s lyrics have always amazed me. So many feel like they were written for the movie,” Thompson said in a press release. “After I met George and experienced his compassion and understanding up close, I realized that in fact the movie was written for those lyrics.”
