Three RVs were destroyed by a fire while a fourth was damaged at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California, on Friday (April 27), with attendees sharing images of billowing smoke on social media. According to local firefighters, there were no injuries reported.
At 2:11 p.m. local time, a fire was reported the Cal Fire/Riverside County Firefighters at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, where the festival is being held. The first arriving fire engine company reported two RVs fully involved with fire. The fire was contained by 2:20 p.m.
Billboard has reached out to festival promoter Goldenvoice for further information but did not receive a response at time of publishing.
Attendees began sharing details of the fire and the threatening smoke on social media, some of whom were unsure how to proceed.
According to one post by Nikie Johnson, a data journalist for the Southern California News Group on Twitter, the festival shared a message on the jumbotron screens saying the fire in the nearby RV camping lot 5 was under control and asking people clear a path for emergency workers.
The Stagecoach Festival follows back-to-back weekends of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival earlier this month — both of which are held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio and are promoted by Goldenvoice.
This year’s Stagecoach lineup includes headliners Florida Georgia Line on Friday, Keith Urban on Saturday and Garth Brooks with Trisha Yearwood on Sunday. The first performances on Friday began around noon local time.
