Silversun Pickups’ Brian Aubert and Nikki Monninger sat down with Billboard for an interview and acoustic performance of “Circadian Rhythm” at the Firefly Music Festival on Saturday (June 18).

The band chatted about its latest album, Better Nature, which was released on its own label, New Machine Records – an experience that has seemed to go smoothly. “The biggest problem was that we didn’t really tell people that we weren’t starting a label [that would sign other bands], so we started to get demos from other bands,” Aubert said.
Better Nature track “Circadian Rhythm” is a song that was originally written “just for Nikki to sing,” he explained, but it ended up being more like a duet.
