Despite his innocent demeanor, Passion Pit mastermind Michael Angelakos has been known to get a little mischievous from time to time.
“I changed the age on my birth certificate to get into a show,” he confessed to Billboard backstage at BottleRock 2015. “That’s so illegal.”

During his chat at the Billboard Studio, the indie dance rocker also gave insight on his desire to develop an identifiable sound as an artist.
“That’s really hard to do for any project or band,” Angelakos says. “So I felt like Kindred was the definitive record in regards to making sure I nailed that.
Passion Pit performed on day two (May 30) of BottleRock Napa Valley, playing opposite of Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant. He drew a sizeable crowd and had fans singing along to catchy songs like “The Reeling” and “Take a Walk.”
Angelakos says he writes music for many different artists, but his dream is to one day work with the great Leonard Cohen. “I have an idea for it,” he says. “It won’t happen but that’s a dream.”
