Kid Cudi delivered one of the best performances on Saturday (June 20) at the 2015 Firefly Music Festival — only, he couldn’t live up to his full potential, as the set was cut off 20 minutes in due to inclement weather.
The Cleveland rapper took the stage at 9:40, 10 minutes late to his starting time. The energy was high as he kicked through “Revofev,” “Down and Out” and “Soundtrack 2 My Life.” “I smoked before the show,” said the 31-year-old, rocking skinny jeans ripped at the knee, a backwards baseball cap and a leather jacket over a Misfits tee. “I’m sure you guys can relate.”

The teeming crowd fed Cudi energy that he gave right back, singing along to “Immortal,” “And the day came like lightning through my veins.” All too literally, he only got to get through part of “Mojo So Dope” before he paused the set. “Someone wants to come on stage and make an announcement,” he said.
FIREFLY WE HAD IT LIT! Sucks the storm shut us down, but I had the most AMAZING time with everyone tonight, I will def see you again soon!

A Firefly official came on stage and told patrons that the show would stop for two minutes before reemerging to give the final word. “Everyone evacuate,” he said. “This is for your own safety.”
Throngs of attendees refused to leave, despite numerous announcements, eventually heeding word. “I’m so sorry,” Cudi said as the day came to a close. “I love you. Mother Nature!”
