Boston Calling has canceled this year’s festival, which was set to take place over the course of Memorial Day Weekend (May 22-24).
Citing concerns over the global coronavirus pandemic and consultations with local and state authorities, the Boston Calling team expressed that they were “heartbroken” over the difficult decision to cancel in a statement.
“To our audience, whom we value dearly, we are so sad that we will not be together with you in May,” organizers said. “We know information regarding your tickets is extremely important to you. As such, we will be reaching out to all ticket holders in the coming weeks with a detailed outline of options available. This includes obtaining a full refund or rolling tickets to next year’s event — about which we hope to have exciting news to share soon. We thank you for your patience; please stay tuned and we will be in touch with more information in the near future.”

Boston Calling is the latest major festival to cancel their 2020 editions due to COVID-19 concerns: following the cancelation of South By Southwest earlier this month, Governors Ball and most recently CMA Fest have all halted their 2020 operations, while others, such as Coachella, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Primavera Sound, have rescheduled for the fall.
The 2020 Boston Calling lineup featured Rage Against the Machine, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Brittany Howard, Run the Jewels and more.
