On Saturday, Beyoncé dazzled audiences during Coachella’s first weekend and made history as the first black woman to headline the festival. In addition to being the top trending artist for Coachella on Twitter, the 36-year-old artist can add another record to her list: her set was the most-viewed Coachella performance on the fest’s YouTube live stream.
Beyonce’s two-hour performance — dubbed “Beychella” by fans — was streamed simultaneously by 458,000 viewers on YouTube worldwide. It all went down a year after Bey postponed her scheduled 2017 appearance due to her pregnancy with the twins, and it seems like the star-studded show — featuring a reunited Destiny’s Child and Bey’s husband JAY-Z and sister Solange — proved it was worth the wait.
This year was Coachella’s biggest yet on YouTube, with more than 43.1 million views and streams from 232 countries. The Coachella live stream was also the most-viewed live festival ever for the video platform.
