Mary J. Blige, Nick Jonas, Miguel, SZA and Julia Michaels are among the first-time nominees announced on Thursday (Jan. 11) for the eighth annual Guild of Music Supervisors' GMS Awards. The awards, which will be held on Feb. 8 at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles honor outstanding music supervisors and songwriters in 17 categories representing film, TV, trailers, TV promos, advertising and video games.
Among the films nominated this year are: Beauty and the Beast, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, The Greatest Showman, Pitch Perfect 3, Lady Bird and Call Me By Your Name. Nominated TV shows include 13 Reasons Why, Big Little Lies, Girls, This Is Us, Master of None and Nashville, while trailers for Baby Driver, I, Tonya, Alien: Covenant, and Black Panther also made the list.
The awards show will also feature live performances from this year’s featured GMS Spotlight Artist English punk Yungblud.
