"American Idol" continues to post double-digit increases in its ratings, with Thursday night's paring down to 13 finalists scoring a 29 percent increase over last season's similar broadcast.
With 24.96 million viewers Thursday, "Idol" crushed its network competition, all of which was repeats. "Idol's" 8.1 rating in the 18-49 demo up 13% vs. the previous Thursday. Fox also had the highest rated non-sports Thursday night on broadcast TV since March 8, 2007.
The second hour of "American Idol" was particularly strong as 25.96 million viewers tuned in between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and 26.66 million watched the show's final half-hour.
