Tomorrowland, the Belgian electronic music festival that expanded last year to Atlanta in the U.S., is officially heading to South America. Confirming earlier reports, Tomorrowland Brasil will take place May 1-3, 2015 in Itu, Brazil, outside of São Paolo, event producer SFX Entertainment announced Monday morning.
David Guetta actually confirmed the news of the Brazil expansion during his Sunday set at Tomorrowland's flagship festival in Belgium. "So I have a great, super exclusive, crazy amazing announcement to do," Guetta told the crowd (watch video below). "I want to say to all my people in Brazil. Tomorrowland is coming to you!"
The announcement was made during a two-way broadcast between the Belgium festival and a live event in São Paolo. News of the Brazil expansion was first reported last week by Omelete, a Brazilian website, and EDM news outlet LesThan3.
Last Septembter, ID&T and SFX Entertainment launched TomorrowWorld, an offshoot held in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia that attracted an estimated 120,000 festival-goers. This year marks Tomorrowland's 10th anniversary.
Tomorrowland Brasil requires fans to pre-register before buying tickets. Pre-registration runs from today until Sept. 5 with sales to the public beginning Sept. 6 on the event's website.
