One day before dropping his sophomore solo album "Formula, Vol. 2," Bronx-born Bachata superstar Romeo Santos announced that he will be headlining a concert at Yankee Stadium on July 12, 2014. Santos will be the first Latin artist to have a show at the new South Bronx ballpark, which opened in 2009, and the only Latin artist to perform at the home of the Yankees since Fania All Stars’ historic show more than 40 years ago.

At a press conference that took place at the famed New York landmark, Santos expressed his enthusiasm for the privilege stating “It is truly an honor.” Describing the pressure of the momentous event, Santos recognized “It’s a huge responsibility.”

The 32-year old had three sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden (18,000 capacity) during his tour for "Formula, Vol. 1" and now transitions to the 50,000 plus capacity Bronx venue. Since the relocation Yankee Stadium has hosted big name acts such as Madonna, Paul McCartney, and Jay Z with Justin Timberlake among many others.

Currently, his single “Odio” (featuring Drake) occupies the No. 1 spot on Hot Latin Songs for its third consecutive week. Previous single “Propuesta Indecente” spent four weeks atop the chart and amassed over 193 million global views of the music video on YouTube/VEVO. Presently on Latin Digital Songs, he holds the top three positions with “Cancioncitas de Amor,” “Odio,” and “Propuesta Indecente,” respectively. The only other artist to occupy the top three spots has been Shakira, although Romeo is the first to do so with primarily Spanish-language tracks.

On the new set, Santos collaborates with a variety of other superstar names including Nicki Minaj, Marc Anthony, and Carlos Santana. The 17-track set also includes an intro by comedian Kevin Hart. "Formula, Vol. 2" follows Santos’ 2011 triple-Platinum certified "Formula, Vol. 1" which spent an impressive 17 weeks at No. 1 on Top Latin Albums.
