Rihanna will return to Dallas and Houston to make up for shows lost earlier this month due to illness.
The pop singer’s Diamonds World Tour now has the two new Texas dates added to the back-end of the itinerary. As it now stands, the Live Nation-produced tour should see Rihanna swing into Dallas’ American Airlines Center on Nov. 11 and Houston’s Toyota Center on Nov. 14.
Tickets for those earlier missed performances will be honored, while refunds will be available at the point of purchase for tickeholders unable to attend.
The Barbados-born pop star has missed a handful of U.S. shows on this giant tour. She canceled a gig in Boston, just the second city on the tour. And a follow-up performance was also canned in Baltimore. On both occasions, the singer missed due to illness – or more specifically, laryngitis. Live Nation were then forced to ditch the advertised April dates in Texas, again because of illness.
Billboard caught Rihanna’s mid-March show in Hartford. Early in the set, Billboard's reviewer noted that the stage "came to light with all the bombast of a flashy awards show. Backed by a four piece band, two backup singers and eight dancers.” Her setlist favored new material, though she made time for hits like “Umbrella” and “Rude Boy,” and she finished with a two-song encore of “Stay” and “Diamonds.”
