AEG Live announced today (Jan. 26) that it has finalized a deal to assume booking and operation responsibilities of the 1,700-capacity Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak, Mich. (a suburb of Detriot).

The long-term deal is a partnership between Los Angeles-based AEG Live and the venue's current owner and operator, Greg Young, who formerly served as an executive producer at Olympia Entertainment.

Terms of the deal were not announced at press time.

During the '80s, the Michigan venue hosted such acts as U2, Prince and AC/DC. More recently, the theater has seen performances from the White Stripes, Eminem and Duran Duran. Upcoming concerts at the venue include Kate Clinton (Jan. 26), Aaron Lewis of Staind (March 1) and Bloc Party (March 24).
