Miley Cyrus will replace Mariah Carey as the season-ending performance of the Toyota-sponsored “Today” show summer concert series, according to a show representative.

The schedule change has been attributed to the recent delay of Carey’s upcoming album, “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.” “Memoirs” was originally due August 25 on Island Def Jam and is now set for release on September 15. The cancellation of Carey's "Today" appearance has also fueled rumors online that the album will be delayed again.

The August 28 Rockefeller Center performance is open to fans and will air live on the “Today” show. The “Today” show concert is now in its 14th season. This year’s season, which kicked off May 1, included performances by Dave Matthews Band, Jennifer Hudson and Black Eyed Peas.
