Gary Warren has been appointed as a full-time product director at music-retail giant HMV U.K.

The position, which makes him a director of the board, gives him the overall responsibility for the recorded music, DVDs, games and related products sold at HMV's outlets. Warren had filled the role on an interim basis in March.

Based in London, he reports to HMV Group CEO Simon Fox.

Additionally, the company has promoted Rudy Osorio to the position of head of music, a post that has been vacant for a few months. He was previously head of DVD. The new head of DVD is Charles Fotheringham, promoted from commercial manager.

Both Osorio and Fotheringham, plus their head of games colleague Tim Ellis, report to Warren.

"I am confident that the HMV product department is ideally placed to work even more closely with our strategic partners to maximize the many commercial opportunities that will arise in the year ahead," said Fox in a statement.
