With the fourth quarter holiday shopping season looming on the horizon retailers have been busy lining up exclusives. Borders will have an 11-track, holiday music album from Aretha Franklin, while Wal-Mart will have the exclusive on the "Hello World" album, based on the Hello Kitty cartoon.

On Oct. 14, the Queen of Soul will issue her first holiday music album, "This Christmas Aretha," through Borders and Borders.com. The recording, produced by Tena Clark and Aretha Franklin, for DMI Records, features classic and contemporary songs infused with Aretha Franklin's trademark gospel, soul, R&B and classical styles, according to an announcement.

Tracks include "Angels We Have Heard on High," "This Christmas," "My
Grown-Up Christmas List," "The Lord Will Make A Way," "Silent Night," and "'Twas The Night Before Christmas," among others.

Meanwhile, the "Hello World" album went on sale at iTunes today. It will be an exclusive with Apple for one week, then go to all digital retailers. The album will be exclusively offered through Wal-Mart beginning Oct. 7, then it will hit all physical retailers in January.

The album was created in partnership between Sanrio, which distributes and licenses a collection of gift, stationary and fashion accessories, and Cherry Lane Music Publishing Co. The lead single "Come On, Come On" is sung by actress and musician Keke Palmer, while Cori Yarckin performs the follow-up single, "Do You Really Wanna."

The "Hello World" album will get additional distribution beginning in January including being available at Sanrio stores and sanrio.com.
