Live Nation France has partnered with former UMG France president Pascal Nègre to launch #NP, a new artist management company. Nègre will act as CEO of the new company, which will take a soup-to-nuts approach in working with artists -- from recordings to design to touring to digital marketing.
"#NP's mission is to ensure the artist is at the very core of the game in this new digital age," said Nègre in a statement. "Our specialist team will be with the artist every step of the way with the advice and services they need to allow them to do what they do best. I'm delighted to join forces with Live Nation France, a family of great professionals with worldwide expertise."
Nègre led Universal Music France for 18 years before exiting, suddenly, earlier this year. In addition, he helmed the Italy, Middle East and Africa territories, and was promoted to global head of new business in 2013. Nègre began his music career as promotion officer at BMG before landing the job of head of promotion at Sony Music. He later ran several labels, including Barclay and Island, before becoming president of Polygram Music in 1994.
He is also the longtime president of French collecting society SCPP.
"The artist is at the core of what we do, and together with Pascal we will be able to expand this focus in ways we've always wanted to," commented John Reid, president of Live Nation Europe, Concerts. "The experience Pascal brings to the table is unsurpassed, and we welcome him with open arms."
