Capitol Music Group has announced the appointment of Lauren Ceradini as its new vp of publicity, moving over from the same position at Sony's Epic Records (where, the company's statement points out, she was also responsible for managing CEO L.A. Reid's publicity). Ceradini will report directly to Ambrosia Healy, who was appointed the head of the label group's media strategy and relations department last October.

The hire comes three months after a round of layoffs hit Capitol's publicity department http://www.billboard.com/biz/articles/news/record-labels/6311858/layoffs-hit-capitol-music-group, and two months after the hiring of Jennie Boddy and Erin Cooney to vp positions.

"It's an exciting time to be part of the Capitol Music Group team and I am thrilled at the opportunity to work across its labels and the groundbreaking artist roster that Steve Barnett and the CMG team are building," Ceradini said in a statement.
