has discovered more detailed information on Sony/ATV Music Publishing's recent deal with producer/songwriter John Shanks.

Shanks, the Grammy-winning producer of the year in 2004, currently has a co-publishing agreement with Warner/Chappell Music for his back catalog. Sony/ATV acquired Shanks' co-publishing share of that catalog, which will still be exclusively administered by Warner/Chappell for the next 8-10 years, sources say. When the Warner/Chappell deal expires, the remaining portion of that catalog moves to Sony/ATV.

Sony/ATV also acquired a portion of Shanks' writer's share of his back catalog, so the publisher will immediately begin generating revenue on that share.

Sony/ATV also entered a co-publishing agreement with Shanks for his future work.
